MWSC has completed the water and sewerage project in the island of N.Maafaru

MWSC today proudly announced the official launch of its significantly enhanced mobile application, marking a transformative leap in its strategic commitment to delivering superior customer experience through cutting-edge digital solutions. This comprehensive upgrade introduces a suite of advanced features and streamlined services, setting a new benchmark for convenience and efficiency in utility management within the Maldives.

Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) marks its 30th anniversary on 1 April 2025. Established in 1995 to address the growing need for water and sewerage services in Male’, MWSC has since expanded its services significantly. From its beginnings with just 60 employees serving a population of 60,000 in Male’, the company now serves around 200,000 people across several islands, including Vilimale’, Hulhumale’, Thilafushi, Maafushi, R. Dhuvaafaru, and HDh. Kulhudhuffushi, reaching approximately 50% of the Maldivian population. In addition to water and sewerage, MWSC also provides electricity, waste management, and ice supply in select areas.

As this year marks the 30th anniversary of MWSC and in celebration of Ramadan, we are launching a campaign called “Ekuveri Roadha 30.” This promotion allows domestic customers who pay their bills through the MWSC app to enter a draw, with three lucky winners receiving a special promotion for an Umrah trip.

As the President of the Republic, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, has declared to provide a discount on household water and electricity bills for the 1446 year of Ramadan, we hereby announce that the bills issued to domestic customers from MWSC in April 2025 will be discounted according to the following principles:

MWSC successfully organized a blood donation camp in collaboration with the Maldivian Blood Service. The event, held as part of the National Blood Donation Campaign initiated by the government, saw enthusiastic participation from MWSC employees.

Male’ Water and Sewerage Company Pvt Ltd has completed the water and sewerage system in the island of R. Fainu. A special ceremony was held in the island to mark the inauguration, honored by the presence of His Excellency President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. The event was attended by MWSC’s Managing Director, Abdul Matheen Mohamed, state ministers, and the residents of R. Fainu.

Male' Water & Sewerage Company (MWSC) has successfully completed 20 islands Water and Sewerage projects that was being carried out in various parts of the Maldives. The project has seen the installation of advanced water systems in five islands: HA. Muraidhoo, N. Feevah, N. Henbadhoo, R. Innamaadhoo, and AA. Mathiveri. Furthermore, both water and sewerage services have been fully established in the remaining 15 islands, including HA. Vashafaru, HA. Maarandhoo, HA. Thakandhoo, HDH. Hirimaradhoo, HDH. Kumundhoo, SH. Goidhoo, N. Maafaru, N. Fohdhoo, R. Fainu, B. Kamadhoo, B. Maalhos, LH. Olhuvelifushi, ADH. Kuburudhoo, AA. Himandhoo, AA. Feridhoo, and HA. Vashafaru, which were completed and commissioned by December 31, 2024.

MWSC is excited to announce the launch of new and improved features for its E-Portal services, offering customers greater convenience in managing their utility services. The upgraded platform was officially launched at a ceremony held at MWSC headquarters, attended by Chairperson Shamhooza Ahmed, Managing Director Abdul Matheen Mohamed, and Deputy Minister for Climate Change, Environment, and Energy Ashraf Numan, Hassan Khalil, and members of the MWSC management team.

The MWSC Staff Award Night 2024 was held at Salaahudheen School, an annual event celebrating the dedication and achievements of the company’s employees.
