MWSC SIGNS AGREEMENT TO INITIATE PHASE IV OF MALE’ STORM WATER UPGRADING PROJECT

MWSC has today signed an Agreement with the Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure for initiation of Phase IV of the Male’ Storm Water Project.

The Contract was signed by the Managing Director of MWSC Mr. Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed and the Minister of Housing and Infrastructure, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, on behalf of the Housing Ministry.

Phase IV of the Male’ Storm Water Upgrading Project includes construction of 4 new pumping station to minimize flooding in Male’.

Storm water System Phase IV comprises of 7 catchment areas, that cover a total area of 129,456 Sqm.

1. Buruzu Magu with its connected roads (From Hilaalee Magu to Kashima Hingun).

2. Ameenee Magu with its connected roads (From Nikagas Hingun to Haveeree Hingun).

3. Haveeree Hingun with its connected roads (Kanbaa Aissa Rani Hingun, Haveeree Hingun to Dhilshaadhu Hingun).
 

Completion of Male’ storm water upgrading project will give an effective solution to ease severe flooding during rainy season.
