MWSC completes water network project in ADH.Maamigili

MWSC has completed the water network project in the island of ADh.Maamigili.

A Special Function honoured by His Excellency President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom was held to inaugurate the new water services in ADh.Maamigili.

Under the Contract with the Ministry of Environment and Energy, MWSC completed the design and build of water supply network, ground water storage tanks and reverse osmosis plant and allied works based on Integrated Water Resources Management approach of dual rainwater harvesting and reverse osmosis water supply model. 

Speaking at the ceremony, Managing Director of MWSC Mr. Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed stated that approximately 25% of the water needed for the community of Maamigili, will be provided through rainwater harvesting. He further highlighted that training on operation and maintenance have been conducted by MWSC for the staff who will be operating the network system.

He assured that MWSC’s goal is to complete the government projects on or before the given timeline to ensure timely implementation of government strategies for outer island development.

MWSC works diligently to serve the nation through the provision of basic utility services of water and wastewater to the citizens of the country.
