Managing Director Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Didi signed an agreement today with Ministry of Housing and Environment, for the Operation and Management of Sewerage facilities in HDh. Kulhudhuffushi. Minister of State Mr. Akram Kamaaludeen signed the agreement on behalf of the Government. The Contract period is for 35 years from the date of commencement.
Sewerage works of Kulhudhuffushi was started on 07th July 2008 after awarding the construction works to MWSC for a contract price of Maldivian Rufiyaa 96million. The project is scheduled to be completed by end of September 2010.
Under this agreement, MWSC will maintain the assets and provide Sewerage services to people of Kulhudhuffushi after levying fees and tariffs which are to be approved by the regulator. Furthermore, MWSC will invest on extension works required to meet the future needs and developments of the island.
