MWSC has celebrated annual World Water Day. As part of the celebrations this year, MWSC held a special event for children at Sultan Park today.
Each year, World Water Day emphasizes on a specific aspect of freshwater and as such the theme for this year is ‘Water and Food Security’. MWSC’s event was organized around this theme and the event focused on creating awareness on the level of water required for the production of food.
Several educational and entertaining activities for children were coordinated which focused on educating on this year’s theme, as well as teaching kids how to conserve and save our precious water. A great number of children and their parents turned up at the event and participated in various activities with staff from MWSC.
International World Water Day is held annually on 22 March as a means of creating awareness on the importance of freshwater and encouraging sustainable management of freshwater resources, and it is a much celebrated day by MWSC every year.
