A Japanese delegation comprising of 17 members from Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) and Hitachi Corporation Ltd (HCL) visited Male’ Water and Sewerage Company Pvt Ltd (MWSC) from 21st to 23rd November 2010.
Main objective of this visit was to share knowledge and expertise in the water industry, the technological know-how, explore the similarities and benefits that will assist both parties as a synergy to move forward.
On the first day of delegation’s visit, they met with government establishments to bolster support and corporation in knowledge sharing initiative and efforts to strengthen the business relationship between TMG and government of Maldives.
During their three day visit, an official meeting was held with our Management Team. Presentation was given by TMG which highlighted their developmental milestones and the technological advancements initiated in Japanese water industry followed by a presentation from the Managing Director of MWSC, Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Didi that concluded with a documentary profile of MWSC. In addition, an exchange of dialogue took place among both parties on the opportunities available for a staff training exchange program.
Further, the delegation made site visits to our operations in Male’, Maafushi and Hulhumale’. MWSC team briefed the delegation on various aspects of our operation, construction sites and the benefits of the technologies we have positioned ourselves to be in pace with the dramatic growth in water demand in the island nation.
